Ron Jackson leaves a legacy of excellence
Fulton County Board of Education member Ron Jackson stepped down last week from the board he sat on for eight years.
He leaves behind an excellent legacy of unprecedented school construction hand in hand with unprecedented student performance. He has been a true public servant during his eight-year tenure on the school board.
School boards are often divisive by nature, yet Jackson always sought to build a consensus. Such a culturally and geographically diverse board could easily fall prey to partisan politics (even though it is supposed to be a non-partisan board), but Jackson always worked to keep the focus on the issues.
He served the district and the larger community well, and for his steadfast service, he deserves our hearty thanks.
